Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
Veelo has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour of any kind. By using Veelo you agree not to post objectionable content and not to behave abusively towards other participants. Content that breaks these terms is removed and the accounts responsible are suspended or terminated, without notice and without refund.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use form a binding agreement between you and Veelo and act as the End User Licence Agreement for the Veelo mobile app and web platform. You accept them when you create an account, join a mission or sign in. If you do not agree to them, do not use Veelo.
We may update these terms. When we do, we ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. Continuing to use Veelo after that point means you accept the updated terms.
2. Who may use Veelo
You must be 18 or older to use Veelo. You may take part in a mission only where an organiser has invited you, and you are responsible for everything done through your account.
3. Content you submit
Completing an action may require you to submit a photo, a video, a written answer, a location check-in or a scanned code. Your submissions are visible to other members of the same mission and to the organiser running it.
You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant Veelo and the organiser of the mission a licence to store, display and process your submissions for the purpose of running and scoring that mission. You confirm that you hold the rights to everything you submit and that you have the consent of anyone identifiable in it.
4. Objectionable content and abusive behaviour
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Veelo. You must not submit, upload or share any content that:
- is sexually explicit, pornographic, or depicts nudity in a sexual context
- is hateful, discriminatory or degrading towards any person or group, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, age or sexual orientation
- harasses, bullies, threatens, intimidates, defames or stalks another person
- depicts or encourages violence, self-harm, dangerous acts or illegal activity
- depicts or exploits minors in any way, or is child sexual abuse material
- is spam, a scam, a phishing attempt, malware, or an attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account or system
- infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights
- impersonates another person, or discloses another person's private information without their consent
You must also not harass, abuse, threaten or impersonate other participants or organisers through any part of Veelo.
5. Moderation, reporting and blocking
We take these rules seriously and we enforce them. Veelo provides the following, and we operate them actively:
- Filtering: an organiser can require that submissions to an action are approved before any other participant can see them. Submissions held for approval are never shown to other participants until the organiser approves them.
- Reporting: every participant can report any submission that is not their own, from the menu on the submission in the feed, choosing a reason and adding a note.
- Blocking: every participant can block another participant. A block takes effect immediately and applies in both directions, so neither person sees the other's submissions. Blocks are managed from the Profile screen.
- Acting on reports: reported content reaches the organiser's moderation queue and our moderation team. We review every report and remove content that breaks these terms within 24 hours.
Accounts that post objectionable content or behave abusively are removed from the mission and suspended or terminated. Serious cases are reported to the relevant authorities. We may remove any content and terminate any account at our discretion where these terms are broken.
6. Reporting a concern to us
If you see content or behaviour that breaks these terms, report it in the app, or contact us directly at support@veelo.me. We respond to every report and act within 24 hours.
7. Your account
Veelo signs you in with a link sent to your email address. Keep access to that address secure, and do not let anyone else use your account.
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app, or by following Delete your account.
8. Availability and liability
Veelo is provided as is. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free, and missions are created and run by organisers rather than by us. We are not responsible for the content of a mission or for the conduct of its organiser or participants, beyond the moderation duties described in section 5.
Some missions ask you to move around in the real world. Take care of your surroundings, follow the law, and do not put yourself or anyone else at risk in order to complete an action.
9. Paid plans and billing
Organisers can use Veelo on the free tier, buy a Mission Pass for a single mission, subscribe to the Organiser plan, or add participant packs. The limits of each plan are shown on the pricing page and in the Subscription tab of the organiser dashboard. Only administrators of an organisation can buy, change or cancel its plan.
- Merchant of record: purchases are processed by Paddle, which is the seller of record. Paddle issues your receipt and invoice, and Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase alongside these terms.
- Prices and tax: prices are shown excluding VAT. Tax is added at checkout based on your location.
- Mission Passes: a pass is used when a mission first goes live. It covers that mission for the participant allowance and the number of days stated at purchase, counted from the mission's first start.
- Subscriptions: the Organiser plan renews automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the Subscription tab. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Participant packs and auto-extend: a pack raises the participant allowance of the pass or month it is bought for. If you turn on auto-extend, we charge the payment method stored with your subscription for a pack each time your monthly allowance is reached, up to the number of packs stated in the dashboard. You can turn auto-extend off at any time.
- Limits: when a plan limit is reached, new participants cannot join and new missions cannot go live until you upgrade, buy a pass or add a pack. Missions that are already running continue to their end.
- Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, Paddle retries it and your plan stays active for a grace period of 7 days. After that, the free tier limits apply until the payment succeeds.
- Promotional pricing: founding rates apply for the period stated when you buy. After that period, the then-current price applies.
Refunds and cancellations are covered by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. It forms part of these terms.
